How did you become a fan?
I don’t remember how I became a fan. As Jon Knight said to me in a meet & greet during the Casi-NO Tour, I “was like 7 the first time around.” Yes, I was one of the younger fans. Sorry I made you feel old Jon! I remember having the tapes, and a poster of the guys hanging in my room. I remember having the puzzles, and my Barbie’s ALWAYS married one of the New Kid’s. Ken was definitely shoved to the side when I got the New Kid’s dolls (which I still have!) How I became a New Kid’s fan, I don’t remember. I’m sure someone at school introduced me to the New Kid’s, or maybe it was the cartoon. I don’t remember!
I remember being a fan of Joey’s “I love you came too late” and “stay the same” when he went solo after the break-up.
As for the reunion…I was late to the reunion game. I remembered seeing they were getting back together, but I was very much into country music at the time, and was out of the “boyband” period in my life. I thought it would be fun to see how the reunion worked out, but never saw much after that since all I basically listened to was country music…I never listened to pop radio stations. I remember hearing they were going to be on the Today Show, but I was working, and didn’t think much about missing it. A couple of the girls I work with had tickets to their ’08 reunion show at Mohegan Sun, and I remember being jealous they were going, and wanted to see pictures! When the guys announced the Full Service Tour (and that they were coming back to Mohegan), the girls at work and I decided we all needed to go this time…that it would be fun for all of us to go! That was when I bought “The Block” album, and when this true crazy journey as a fan for me really began…even though I was a fan back in the day….It took me until June 2009 to really become sucked backed into the fan world…and I haven’t looked back since!!!
