WOOOO!!! So this past Saturday (9/12/09), my roommate Jillian and I decided on a whim at 10am to drive 3 hrs to Boston to try and see Donnie on the set of his new movie "The Zookeeper."
By 10:30am, we were in the car and headed on our way. After stopping at 2 banks for cash (just in case) and filling up the gas tank, we were on our way! Driving through CT, no rain! We hit the Massachusetts border - HELLOOOO RAIN!!! For the remainder of the drive we have periods of annoying misty rain to heavy downpour!
At 1pm, we arrive in Boston, and locate the Franklin Park Zoo. The parking lots are empty and we don't really know where we are going, so we continue to just drive, hoping to see some sort of sign of "Hollywood." We see the ZK signs and start to follow them, which leads us kinda outta the zoo area. We decide that this is NOT where we want to be so we turn around, and head back toward the zoo. I decide that we are going to just find a place to park and head into the zoo and see what happens. We see a sign for "giraffe parking lot" and for some reason, I decide to head us that way. When we pull into the giraffe parking lot, we see trucks....HOLLYWOOD TRUCKS!! WOOO!! We have found where we need to be!! We park the car, and head toward the zoo entrance, coming across a small group of girls (only 7 of 'em) standing under umbrella's because yes of course it's raining and cold!
So it's 1:15pm, and we start to hang out with these girls....some of whom have been standing out here since 7am! WITH NO ACTION YET! We were glad to find out that we didn't miss Donnie!
At about 2:30pm, we spy Donnie headed toward us! He stops in the middle of the road and looks around, pretending that he doesn't see us! Then he comes over and starts giving hugs to us and taking pictures with us! He hung out with the 9 of us for like a 1/2 hr. My roommate caught part of my conversation with him on video:
It was GREAT afternoon with DDub. So awesome to see him again. He didn't remember my name, but that's ok. I'd rather not be remembered, because it seemed that the people he knows by name are mostly because they are majorly stalkerish! I don't want to be remembered like a stalker! lol! He told me that he saw my tweets from Friday and that was enough for me! I got another hug and picture with him, and then he posed with all of us girls! AND my roommate got her first facetime with ANY of the guys! Her first New Kid experience was facetime and that's totally awesome!
Here are some pictures from our day at the zoo with Donnie!!
(Me and Donnie!)
